Placing art on your wall
The examples below are starting points, not rules. Every room is different — use them alongside the Wall Art Viewer on any product page to see exactly how a piece will look in your space before you order.
How to measure your wall or furniture
For a wall: measure the width of the section you want to fill (e.g. between two windows or from corner to baseboard). For furniture: measure the width of the sofa, headboard, or table top. A good rule of thumb is to aim for art that covers roughly two-thirds of the furniture's width — but trust your eye over the tape measure.
Above a standard sofa (72–84 in wide)
Two-thirds of 78 in ≈ 52 in of art. A pair of Large frames side by side (each 20.5 in wide) fills about 41 in — a clean, balanced look. A single X-Large (24.5 in wide) works well as a solo statement piece, or three Mediums in a row span 49.5 in for a gallery-wall feel.
Above a loveseat or apartment sofa (54–66 in wide)
Two-thirds ≈ 40 in. A Large (20.5 in) sits comfortably on its own, or a pair of Mediums (16.5 in each, 33 in together) keeps things light and airy.
Above a king or queen bed (60–76 in wide)
Headboards read wider because of pillows and bedding. One X-Large centred above the headboard makes a strong focal point. For a layered look, two Larges placed symmetrically work well on a king.
Above a console or entry table (36–48 in wide)
A Medium (16.5 in wide) fills the space without overpowering a narrow hallway. On a wider console, one Large or two Smalls flanking a mirror are popular combinations.
Narrow walls, nooks, and stairwells
Small (13.5 in wide) is ideal when horizontal space is limited — a stairwell landing, the wall beside a doorframe, or a tightly grouped gallery arrangement. Two or three Smalls in a vertical column suit walls that are taller than they are wide.
Hanging height
Eye level for most people is 57–60 in from the floor. Aim to centre the frame at that height when hanging solo. Above furniture, leave 6–10 in of space between the top of the piece and the bottom of the frame — enough breathing room so the art and furniture read as a pair rather than crowding each other.

Each image is printed on 300gsm Hot Press fine art paper. Smooth, acid-free, 100% cotton rag. Solid wood, hand-assembled. Gallery framing-grade plexiglass at 2.5mm minimises glare while protecting the print, and unlike glass it arrives intact. Inside, an acid-free, lignin-free conservation mat board. Hanging wire is fitted, so it's ready for the wall out of the box.
