About JCINTO

My grandfather Jacinto told stories.

He was a storyteller and a family man, and what he left behind wasn't objects. It was the stories — and the sense that they'd disappear if nobody held onto them.

I started JCINTO because a photograph works the same way. Someone was standing there. Something made them stop. That's the part that usually gets lost.

So before we frame anything, I sit down with the photographer and ask what it felt like to be there. What they were thinking. Why that frame and not the one before it. That conversation becomes the story card that ships in the box with your print — so the moment comes with it.

Every piece is printed, matted and framed by hand just outside Toronto. Six photographers. Sixty-two places. Each one somewhere a person actually stood.
